Fazriq who will be partnering with a new partner and looking forward for a gold debut in Sukma, Malaysia Games badminton competition next week. Cheah Wei Jie will be his new partner and will team up to compete in the men’s doubles. Wei Jie was in the Thomas Cup Finals squad.
National back-up pair Goh Boon Sze-Raynor Beh Chun Meng will be their main challengers, others include several other national senior pairs.
The Badminton Association of Malaysia’s No. 3 Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun will also be playing at the Sukma competition but will be representing Selangor and Malacca respectively. Other pairs include Haikal Nazri and Wan Arif Wan Junaidi.
Fazriq said that he is excited to play in his first Sukma competition and is looking forward to partner with Wei Jie. He is also looking forward to learn from him since Wei Jie is a senior player.
Fazrid Looking Forward To His First Sukma
Boon Sze and Raynor will be a strong team for them to beat and also includes other national players. He will be excited if he is able to get a medal, if not, the experience he can get from the game is also precious.
Fazriq had just promoted into the national senior squad recently and had partner with Wei Jie a few times in match plays. They have not join any tournaments yet. Wei Jie’s regular partner is Low Hang Yee.
Fazriq is the son of former international Razif Sidek. He will be competing in the World Junior Championships.
