Ange Postecoglou To Replace Klopp As Next Liverpool Manager

A former Celtic player has told Liverpool they think Ange Postecoglou will replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager.

The Reds have kept Klopp in the hot seat at Anfield since October 2015. The German has won six major trophies since arriving on Merseyside, including the Premier League title and the Champions League.

Will Ange Postecoglou Leave Celtics For Liverpool After Klopp's Contract Due?

Klopp signed a new contract in April to stay at Liverpool until the end of the 2025/26 season. The club has already been told who will replace him, though it is almost four years away.

Current Scottish club owner Ange Postecoglou will succeed Klopp, according to former Celtic star Paul Slane. Postecoglou took charge of the Celtics in the summer of 2021 and led them to a league title in his first year in charge.

Slane, who made one appearance for Celtic and now plays for Scottish fifth tier club Open Goal Broomhill, believes Postecoglou has what it takes to succeed at Liverpool when Klopp’s era is over comes to an end.

Slane told Grosvenor Sport: “I think Postecoglou’s going to be the next Liverpool manager, I really do, I think he’ll be the next Liverpool manager when Jurgen Klopp decides to go or Liverpool decide to part with him. Who else will take the Liverpool job after Klopp?

“Sometimes in the Champions League this season against Real Madrid, the European champions Celtic have been incredible, so I think Ange Postecoglou is good enough to be the next Liverpool manager. If people think that Graham Porter is better than Postecoglou, he can get the Chelsea job, then they are wrong.”

Slane added: “Sadly, I don’t think Postecoglou will be with the Celtics for the next four or five years.

“He’s going to want the Premier League, the top teams, the money… I think Ange is going to face the top managers in the world week after week. So I think it’s going to be hard for him to stay with Celtic. But next first game of the season, I think he’s still going to manage the Celtics.”
