Cristiano Ronaldo Wants to Leave Manchester United After Failure to Win the Champions League

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United in the first week of July. Ronaldo, already impatient with the club’s lack of activity in the summer transfer market, is unhappy with his failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Failure to win the Champions League has resulted in a 25% cut in player salaries, which sources say has “upset” Ronaldo. That feeling was exacerbated by United playing in the Europa League, which Ronaldo sees as a game of players below his stature. Ronaldo has always been synonymous with the Champions League and he wants to continue that special relationship.

Some thought it was wrong to see Ronaldo take to the pitch of the Europa League, and the players seemed to agree. Ronaldo has no intention of playing in the Europa League, but only one club in Saudi Arabia wants him this summer.

Ronaldo has remained at Old Trafford, having played in the Europa League game against Real Sociedad last week. While the Europa League music wasn’t playing at Old Trafford due to the Queen’s death, Ronaldo was unable to escape the inevitable for a long time.

Marcus Rashford is currently injured and will not travel to Moldova for Manchester United’s match against FC Sheriff on Wednesday. Ronaldo is expected to start the game and Europa League music will play as the teams walk out of the Zimburu Stadium.

The moment Ronaldo took to the pitch with the Europa League soundtrack felt symbolic. The tawdry soundtrack is a reminder of the failure to qualify for the Champions League, and of the club’s failure and embarrassment.

Even though Ronaldo doesn’t want to play in the Europa League this season, that’s the card he’s got, and he’s currently playing like a player worthy of his less successful, unlikable sibling in the Champions League.
