Brazil’s 5-1 victory over Tunisia was by no means but a friendly match in Paris on Tuesday ahead of the World Cup.

Brazil endured a very difficult atmosphere at the Parc des Princes with a lot of fouls by their star players. 41 minutes later. With Brazil already comfortably leading 4-1, Neymar was cynically brought down by defender Dylan Bronn and the referee didn’t hesitate to send the Salernitana star off immediately.

There was trouble in the stands, too, with opposing fans maintaining an unbearable attitude, from the whistle of the Brazilian national anthem to lasers aimed at Neymar and bananas thrown in celebration of Richarlison’s goal.

Tite pointed it all out at a press conference: ” There was a Tunisian majority. At various times I tried to find some of our fans but they were diluted. That created an atmosphere of a competitive match.”

“On the pitch, we knew it was going to be competitive and fair, but I didn’t expect something like Neymar to happen, it’s an attempt to take a player out of the World Cup. Couldn’t have imagined the way of doing it.

The protagonist Neymar also spoke.

Neymar is very concerned and he said ” I’ve even spoken to Tite. I made a foul, my first one, and I got a yellow card.”

He explained he was fouled in the second half and the player who cut off the counter-attack didn’t get a yellow card.

He added “I don’t understand these things. The World Cup started with this match. The Tunisian players went a bit overboard with the fans, who were crazy. They had a great party, but they overdid it a little bit with their forcefulness.”

For the racist incident, Neymar also gave his own evaluation: ” I don’t have to talk about it, it’s sad for football, for everyone, for those who are from Tunisia. The party they threw was great, but…”

The bad taste in the mouth is in stark contrast to the sporting enthusiasm of Brazil, who have finished their preparations against Qatar in 2022 with a record of seven wins and one draw. They have also scored at least 4 goals in 5 of those 8 games.
