Jin Wei’s decision to withdraw from the decision blew up Penang’s hopes of getting a medal and left the door open for other players, such as Eoon Qi Xuan and Siti Nurshuhaini Azman, to battle it out for gold.

Qi Xuan said that she had minor knee surgeries and is still working on getting back to full fitness. She won’t put much hope into getting a medal in Sukma as she is not 100% fit. She won’t be setting any specific targets for the competition but will give her best in the game.

Qi Xuan will focus on the Indonesian Masters after the Sukma. She hopes her knee will get better soon to allow her to play in a better condition in future tournaments.
